Just so many yeses were said out loud as I read this. It's so important to me to feel like a "local" when I'm wherever I go. Mostly, I want to interact with the people there. It's the best way to expand myself. I'm preaching to the choir. I know. Thanks for this post and some tips I'll implement, Mateus.

Hi, Holly, I am really happy that this post inspired you. Yeah, it's amazing such feeling, and only who can stay a longer period can taste it - at least in a more fullfill way.

All good advice. And it does--change you. Taking in the local market scene and buying daily or whenever really acclimates one to place. Enjoy your present journey-job!

It's amazing, Jeanine. And also can bring good stories. I never forget when a recepcionist was yelling at me in a market in Budapest because I didn't know how to weigh the fruit. Obviously, she was screaming in Hungarian and I didn´t understand one single word! Thanks for reading me. I will also follow Mexico Soul - including I am planing Mexico soon in this nomadic life. Reading you will give me precious insights and tips.

Excellent advice, Matteus, I do a lot of the things you recommend when I travel to other countries to participate in short-term language immersion programs. Ii like to get an authentic experience. Best regards in your travels.
