You don't need to travel the world to be a digital nomad
You are a digital nomad if you don't have a fixed home. It doesn't matter where you are
The first question I hear when I say that I have become a digital nomad is: "where in the world do you go?" It's the wrong question. You don't have to travel the world to be a digital nomad. You can be a digital nomad in your city or country.
I've been living in several different places in São Paulo since October of last year. That doesn't make me less of a nomad than someone working remotely across Southeast Asia.
Digital nomadism is a new concept enabled by the internet. But nomadism was humanity's first form of survival.
The dictionary defines a nomad as: "someone who does not have a fixed home, who is constantly changing places."
Therefore, no matter how much you move or where you move, what is essential is displacement and the lack of fixed housing.
Get out of your head the idea that you must travel the world, spend euros or dollars, and stay completely away from your family, local cuisine, or your language.
Where do you plan to start your life as a digital nomad? Write in the comments.
I started my nomad life at Florianópolis, in a house near the sea, where I could run and have a better quality of life
