I am thrilled to announce that we are almost 100 in this community about different models of life and work. I write on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, at 11 am (Brasilia time, 2 pm GMT). Feel free to send feedback. Listening to your opinion is essential to create a better product.
A digital nomad uses technology to work and live in multiple places. There are several styles of digital nomads, but in common is that they do not have a fixed address for a long time.
I'll explain why the title of this text isn't contradictory.
We all know how good it is to return home after a hard day at work or after a long trip. Your bed, your shower, your couch. We feel comfortable and safe. No surprise, "home, sweet home" is one of the most universal expressions.
I no longer have a home to call my own. I have several houses to call my own. After all, I'll always need to be somewhere.
Choosing a cozy, well-located place that makes you feel at home is essential to get that feeling I described above.
Your life is already a bit agitated and lonely. It can interfere with your job performance if you're uncomfortable with where you live. And remember: your house is also your office. No matter how much you enjoy working from cafes or libraries, you will work from home in many situations.
I also create a mini routine, like going to the same grocery store or bakery, to feel like a local and feel even more at home.
In the following months, I will have accumulated the experience of having had countless houses, lives and routines. And that's why I always wanted to be a digital nomad.
