Monday morning can only be the devil's art. We profoundly hate Monday morning. Being forced to wake up early to study or work after a weekend of rest and fun is a terrible psychological torture.
We still have five long days ahead, facing tests at school or bosses at work, until Saturday and Sunday come again.
Life as a digital nomad and self-employed made me no longer hate Monday mornings. It's a liberty to be able to work whenever I want and wherever I want. And I decided that my Monday mornings would be more relaxed.
Since then, I wake up when my body wants, take breakfast calmly, listen to a podcast, read a book or a newspaper, and go to the park for a walk or to the gym. I don't start work until after lunch unless I have something urgent to finish.
Hard to say that this makes me happier than someone with an agitated Monday. Happiness is subjective and not comparable. In this newsletter, I plan to discuss how life should be a constant search for happiness.
That's why I looked for a working model that no longer made me hate a specific period of the week. Our industrial model of division of labor needs to be updated. Countless tasks need not be done from 8 am on Monday in person.
This newsletter will always advocate for more flexible working models. Improving the quality of life will be a No Direction Home priority. Monday doesn't deserve to be so hated.
Good Monday.
